Marcus

So our Marcus is 4 yrs old and we call him our "supersweet" because anyone that meets him know that he is exactly that. He has a way about him that pulls you in and lets you see his innocence and genuine ability to be sweet. We are entertained daily by his viewpoint and the little stories and sayings he has. Marcus struggled as an infant with chronic ear infections, fluid in his ears, and without us knowing, a hearing deficit related to the above. So in February of 2009 he had his tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes placed down at Childrens hospital. I remember the am of his surgery the doctor telling me.."you wait, he will be a different child in 2 months." I thought to myself.."how can this be..he is already our supersweet and they don't get much easier." Well...she was right. His personality and speech exploded!! Speech therapy and time proved and continues to prove that he has sooo much to say and is better at it each day!! Most children with a speech delay may show frustration due to their inability to communicate...but not our Marcus. He will repeat and repeat what he is trying to say until we finally get it right! Not once will his voice change to disgust or irritation...but it stays the same and keeps on trying til we get it and then we get a big "yes" for getting it!! Those moments are getting less and less since he talks soo much better now!! So with that little bit of background on our supersweet...I wanted to create a section just about him and his little stories or viewpoints he has! We are given these daily and turn to be our highlights of each day!!
So yesterday he was eating his hamburger and it had some mustard on it, which he has had before but never seemed to notice til today, and he got a bit much on his tongue and all of a sudden it just made him have a little shiver...you know like when you taste something that just is a bit not right...and he then proceeds to say what is that? And then Doug tells him what it is..his response is "oh..that make me shake." It was just one little moment but the way he says things just makes ya giggle.
I hope to share more little Marcus -isms because I want to remember them and they are just priceless especially because at times it is one of the best moments of my day!!
